When Chorus Intelligence first got in touch, they weren’t looking for a new site as they already had a strong WordPress website in place. What they needed was a fresh set of eyes to take over support and hosting, improve the usability behind the scenes, and give a visual lift to some key sections. They came prepared, with a new sitemap, detailing what they wanted on each page, and supplied updated content.

Our WordPress takeover process involves answering 3 key questions:

  • Can we host and maintain your website? What custom code is there and are there any unsupported plugins.
  • Are the WordPress core and plugins up-to-date, and from trustworthy sources?
  • Is it secure? We assessed the site using vulnerability scanning.

Once we had a resounding yes to those questions, we got the site up and running on our servers and began to look at making changes.

Firstly, our design team started by creating new visuals for the homepage, the “Who Are We?” page, the Chorus Intelligence Suite (CIS) overview, and a key product page for Federated Search, Capture & Enrichment. These were aligned with the existing site design, so to not look out of place.

We knew the site had some complexities: a custom animation library, multilingual functionality, and carefully crafted structures already in place. In creating the new style pages, we utilised WordPress’ block editor alongside the existing Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) setup. This hybrid approach gave the freedom of editability to the updated pages on the site, without disrupting the existing content.
